The Perfect Gentleman was born on February 19, 2014, as a vision to redefine modern etiquette, style, and presence. What began as a blog quickly took off between 2014 and 2017, drawing in a loyal audience and sparking collaborations that made Berto pursue TPGent full time. During this time, he evolved from being a content creator into a trusted brand consultant, helping companies and communities connect through culture, storytelling, and elevated experiences. That same year, Berto began his career in the spirits industry as an intern for Cîroc Vodka, working his way up to Assistant Brand Manager—a pivotal experience that rooted him in brand building, nightlife, and luxury culture.
Between 2017 and 2018, The Perfect Gentleman gained wider visibility when Berto starred on Aspire TV’s hit show The Graduates ATL and partnered with the High Museum of Art, cementing the brand as a cultural connector. Around this time, he also began working with The Village Market, where from 2017 through 2021 he played an integral role in supporting and scaling a movement for Black-owned businesses in Atlanta.
From 2018 to 2020, The Perfect Gentleman expanded its reach through high-profile brand ambassadorships and partnerships with Mercedes-Benz, The Macallan, Atlanta United, and other luxury and lifestyle leaders. These collaborations established Berto as a trusted cultural strategist and lifestyle curator.
In 2020, Berto joined the founding team of RenderATL, the fastest-growing tech conference according to 2025 Inc. 5000, as Head of Partnerships for its inaugural 2021 conference. Today, he serves as Director of Southern Hospitality and Partnership Specialist, curating world-class experiences and leading key relationships that shape the Render brand.
By 2022, the vision evolved further with the launch of Gentle Life, an elevated lifestyle essentials brand focused on home goods and accessories designed for intentional living. That same year, Berto was honored on the HBCU Buzz Top 30 Under 30 list, recognizing his cultural and community impact.
In 2023, Berto deepened his footprint in hospitality with Elevated by TPG, a dining experience series hosted at premier venues such as Palo Santo and Tulum Kitchen & Bar. He also launched The Dandy’s Honor, an elevated dinner experience celebrating style and community.
Momentum carried into 2024, where Berto served as a correspondent for the High Museum of Art’s Giants: The Dean Collection exhibition, interviewing Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz. At the same time, he expanded his work at RenderATL, curating premium experiences for executives and cultural leaders.
Now in 2025, The Perfect Gentleman stands at the forefront of culture, hospitality, and lifestyle. Berto became an ambassador for One Music Fest 2025, launched Gentle Life’s first product—The Elevated Slipper—in collaboration with Maddox & Co., and joined Retreat by The Gathering Spot as Strategic Lead for Memberships and Partnerships, guiding member growth and shaping signature member experiences. What began as a personal project has grown into a movement—shaping culture through elegance, connection, and legacy.
“It started out as a hobby, but turned into a brand, and now it’s a business.”
